Field of Interest (FOI) - Honors/Culture and Society

Sigma Chi Eta (SCH) is a nationally recognized honor society of the National Communication Association for two year/community college institutions. Sigma Chi Eta’s Glendale Community College chapter is Alpha Gamma, which has adopted the colors, purple and gold.

The purpose of the honor society is to promote outstanding academic achievement in the communication discipline and to encourage students to continue their education and pursue a bachelors’ degree in communication at a four-year institution.  Drs. Burk and Schwarzwalter in the Communication Department are the honor society's advisors.
