Important Dates

Financial aid awards are scheduled to disburse about two weeks after your first class starts.

• This applies to students who are eligible for aid and have completed all necessary steps.
• If your first class starts before the official semester start date, you'll get your aid about two weeks after that date.
• Any extra aid (money left over after paying for tuition, fees, and books) will be given to you through the MSRP process. How soon you get this extra money depends on how you chose to receive it:
  • Direct deposit: 3-4 business days
  • Paper check: 10-14 business days

Book advances are given out no earlier than nine business days before the semester starts or no more than nine business days before your first class for late-start classes.

If you change your class schedule after getting aid, your financial aid might be reduced, and you might have to pay back some money. This includes classes you were enrolled in but didn't attend, late-start classes you dropped, consortium classes, and canceled classes.

The Pell Recalculation Date (PRD) is important because your enrollment as of this date and time is what will determine the Pell Grant award. If classes are added after this date/time, Pell Grant cannot be increased.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) or Maximum Timeframe (MTF) appeals submitted after the deadline will be considered for the next semester.

*This is the earliest timeframe in which book advances will begin to be processed. The processing timeframe may be impacted by holiday and/or weekends. The release date is based on a student's individual class start dates. See Maricopa Book Advances for more information.
