Accessing Your Documents

Accessing Your Documents

GCC provides currently enrolled students with a limited amount of electronic storage space for saving your documents on our network. We call this the "H: Drive".

When you are using a computer on campus and save a document to your "Documents" folder or your Desktop it is being saved on your "H: Drive". Think of this area as the "Home" for your documents at GCC.

Any use of GCC computers or networks must comply with our MCCCD Technology Resource Standards. Please take some time to become familiar with the Technology Resource Standards.

Both the H: Drive and Course Folders (S: Drive) may be accessed while on or off-campus.

How to access the H: Drive & Course Folders (S: Drive) Storage

  1. Log in.
  2. Click the Start button, and select Computer from the pop-up menu.
  3. Double-click the Home (H:)  or (S:)  drive icon.

  1. Log in.
  2. Drives will appear on the right-hand side of your screen.  The drive labeled with your MEID is your H: Drive. The drive labeled Shared is your S: Drive.
  3. Double-click the desired drive icon.

Note

Remember: Your H: & S: drive storage space is the property of GCC and is subject to MCCCD policies on the acceptable uses of information technologies. Any electronic files stored on GCC servers can be audited by authorized MCCCD administrators.
