As part of the West Valley community, we strive to help all individuals who are looking for employment, transitioning between careers, or exploring career options. Career Services are free to everyone: prospective students, current students, graduates, alumni and all community members. As an Access Point for Arizona Workforce Connections, we can also help you locate job search and retraining options available through local One-Stop Centers operated by Maricopa County and the City of Phoenix.
Odds are, if it relates to career management, career exploration, job search strategies, or experiential learning (like volunteering, service-learning or internships) we can help you do it. If not, we can help direct you to the appropriate resources, such as our colleagues in the Counseling Department or off-campus connections.
Our diverse services include: resume writing instruction and critiques, job opportunities/postings, interviewing advice, internship search support, instruction in effective job search strategies and use of social media in career management, career exploration, job fairs, employer recruiting events, career management workshops, labor market information, and salary trends and job search assistance. GCC Career Services also has a computer lab dedicated for career exploration and job search activities.

As part of a higher education institution committed to teaching and learning, Career Services' professionals teach you strategies to obtain employment. We help you research and prepare for opportunities that best meet your needs and employer expectations. Ultimately, it is up to the job seeker to obtain the job, but Career Services will help you make connections and guide you through the job search process.
Career Services provides a multitude of resources to help you find an off-campus job. The Maricopa PipelineAZ is our online job board. Additionally, we have job postings within the Career Center and frequently host employers recruiting on-campus.
We realize our students have very busy schedules, so we are glad to provide resume critiques through email. Please email career.services@gccaz.edu and attach the resume as a Word document. Indicate what type of position you are pursuing, so we can make suggestions/comments.
In the Disney College Program, students complete internships in California or Florida. Additionally, national internships are available through the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities' National Internship program. Please contact us for information (career.services@gccaz.edu) about these programs. If you have been accepted to either program, please visit us well in advance of your start date, so we can discuss credit options with you.
Federal work study is administered by the Financial Aid Department at Glendale Community College. These part-time jobs generally will not exceed nineteen (19) hours per week with the rate of pay equal to at least the minimum wage. If you qualify (verified through maricopa.edu or by our Financial Aid Department), please visit Career Services to learn about work-study job opportunities on the campus.
Glendale Community College is part of the Maricopa County Community College District and positions are posted on MCCCD's Human Resources website. Temporary or "budget" positions sometimes are available at GCC. To find out about current opportunities, please contact the Career Services office.
