Bio

Biography

My name is Dr. Trisha Lavigne and I am a psychology professor here at GCC. I teach Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Psychology of Parenting, and Psychology of Culture. I earned my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Family and Child tract in California. Much of my early clinical career involved working with emotionally traumatized young children and families in community mental health, hospital, and school settings.

Since moving back to the state of Arizona, I have worked in police psychology and community mental health settings. I began teaching as an adjunct with GCC in 2008 and have been full-time faculty since 2010. It is a pleasure to share my love of this field with GCC students! I took my first college class in psychology here at GCC and it cemented my career-goals.

Psychology is an engaging, complex, and important field that I believe has relevancy to every individual. I am happy to discuss career options with anyone who is interested!
