Bio

Biography

Dr. Dollar is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). He earned his PhD from Wayne State University (WSU) in Detroit, Michigan. His doctoral training focused on Educational Psychology and included cognates in Developmental Psychology and Research Methods and Statistics. Dr. Dollar also attained a specialist credential in School Psychology and an MA in School and Community Psychology from a National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) approved program. He was awarded his BA in Psychology from Oakland University (OU) in Rochester, Michigan.

Dr. Dollar became a Gaucho in 2018. Prior to joining the faculty at Glendale Community College (GCC), he was employed as a full-time school psychologist for the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD), where he provided comprehensive school-based psychological services. Dr. Dollar also practiced school psychology within several other districts located in urban, suburban, and rural communities across Michigan. As a result, he gained invaluable experience working with populations from a wide range of racial, ethnic, cultural, social, and economic backgrounds. He applied his training and expertise to solve real problems and help improve the lives of others. Consequently, he brings real world experience as a practitioner to the classroom.

In addition to his work as a school psychologist, Dr. Dollar taught several courses in the Educational Psychology Department at WSU and in the Psychology Department at St. Clair County Community College (SC4) in Port Huron, Michigan. At GCC, Dr. Dollar teaches courses related to his expertise such as Introduction to Psychology (PSY 101) and Psychological Disorders (PSY 266).
