Biography

Education:
Ph.D., Experimental Psychology (Social), The University of Oklahoma
M.S., Psychology, The University of Oklahoma
B.A., Psychology, The University of Oklahoma

I earned my PhD from The University of Oklahoma where I specialized in Experimental Social Psychology, and I have been teaching at Glendale Community College since 2002. I love teaching psychology classes! I teach Introduction to Psychology (PSY101), Introduction to Statistics (PSY230/231), Black Psychology (PSY157), and LGBT Studies (PSY143). Being a psychology professor at GCC is absolutely the best job in the world, and I could not be happier.

My current research interests involve two related but slightly different domains. I conduct research with probation departments investigating workplace climate, secondary trauma, and compassion fatigue in conjunction with the National Institute of Corrections. I am also interested in working with police departments to understand the nature of policing and the expectations for policing including treatment of criminal offenders and the impacts on police officers themselves.
