The Traveler is an award-winning annual literary and visual arts publication produced by the Art and English departments of Glendale Community College. Volume 57 of The Traveler Celebrates the 60th Anniversary of GCC.

The book was designed by GCC Digital Media Arts internship students and features the writings and artwork submitted by students. To develop the anniversary theme, we brainstormed things important to college students throughout history. We developed a system of icons to represent historical events on campus as well as everyday items that impact college students. Things like the price of coffee, skinny jeans or bell bell-bottoms, typewriters, computers, laptops and iPads. How did you listen to music when you were in college? A record player, 8 track, cassette, compact disc, iPod, or phone? Each chapter highlights a time period with corresponding icons and some fun facts and historical images. We appreciate our campus historian, Sean O'Brien, who helped pull this part of the content together. Also, thank you to the GCC marketing department for their help on the cover art typeface and graphic elements.

Copies are available for pickup at the Art and Humanities Office, FA-101, or the English Office, O5-150, on the GCC main campus. The Traveler archive can be viewed at lib.gccaz.edu/archive/traveler/
