This presentation will explore the vital role of KUYI Hopi Public Radio as a cornerstone for the Hopi community, providing a platform that amplifies local voices, preserves cultural heritage, and strengthens community ties. As one of the few media outlets in a rural Indigenous area, KUYI serves not only as a source of news and entertainment but also as a trusted lifeline for public safety, education, and connection. We'll discuss how KUYI promotes Hopi language preservation while empowering the community to stay informed and engaged.

Whether you're Indigenous or an ally, wear moccasins or any footwear symbolizing support for Native communities, and share your story on social media. Use the hashtag #RockYourMocs and tag @GCCAZ.
For non-Native allies, wear something turquoise and share a photo or video using #RockYourMocsSolidarity.

Red Shawl Day is an annual national effort to bring attention to acts of violence committed against Indigenous People.
Ways to Help Raise Awareness
- Wear a red shawl or red clothing on the day and week of Red Shawl Day
- Report suspicious activities when visiting public lands to local law enforcement.
- Being aware and spreading awareness of this issue can save lives
- Join the conversation on social media using #RedShawlDay and #NPSIndigenous

Native American Dance & Flute and Native American Storytelling
Performance & Presentation by Tony Duncan
Celebrate Native American culture with Tony Duncan. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. with an exciting performance featuring traditional hoop dance and the haunting melodies of the Native American flute. Tony, a talented Apache and Arapaho artist, will share stories of nature, spirituality, and resilience through his art.
Following the performance, at Noon, Tony will lecture on the significance of Native American storytelling, highlighting its role in preserving history and cultural traditions.
