All-Employee (and Retiree!) Picnic

The All-employee (and retiree!) picnic is back! The Faculty Senate, with the assistance of GCC's 60th Anniversary Committee, cordially invites you to attend an all-employee Friday lunchtime picnic at Saguaro Ranch Park, just north of the Main Campus. Hot food (both meat and meatless options) and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Please join us as we re-institute this fun tradition! Details on exact date, time, and menu to be provided soon.

GCC 60th Anniversary and Community Celebration

Students, alumni, employees, and the community are invited to take part in creating a fun and festive anniversary celebration that honors our past, celebrates our vibrant present, and looks toward the bright future of GCC Gauchos. There will be activities presented by our Career and Technical Education and Academic Programs for those exploring enrollment options at GCC.

  • Meet with program directors, instructors, and advisors to learn about career paths
  • Talk to Financial Aid Specialists
  • Learn about campus activities and clubs
  • Find out how GCC can help with internships and jobs

Staff and Faculty: Celebrate GCC's 60th Anniversary with Us!

Join us for a special Ice Cream Social in honor of GCC’s 60th Anniversary! As part of the celebration, we’ll be wrapping up the 2nd Annual Summer Gaucho Goofy Golf Tournament along with announcing the winners. Even if you haven’t participated in the tournament, we’ll have additional Goofy Golf games available for all employees to enjoy. There will be a special award for the top golfer of the day! Dress in your goofiest golf attire and join us for a fun-filled afternoon celebrating 60 years of GCC.

February

The Story of GCC North: An Archival Journey

Join us for an afternoon filled with archives where you can learn about the history and construction of the GCC North campus with an interactive display and discussion. A brief presentation will begin at 1 p.m. with an open discussion, browsing, and question period to follow. Sean O'Brien, the archives librarian, will lead the event and be available to answer questions. Alberto Sanchez, Retired Vice President of Student Affairs; Chuck Jeffery, Retired Dean of GCC North; and DeeDee Denslow, former Dean of GCC North will attend to answer questions. Light refreshments will be served.

The Story of GCC: An Archival Journey

Join us to learn about the rich history and life of the college through a decade-by-decade journey of the college's history. Sift through some of the historical collections and artifacts of the college and take part in an interactive GCC History Quiz. There will also be an interactive archives activity that students can take for extra credit. The presentation and quiz will begin at 1 p.m. with an open discussion, browsing, and question period to follow. The interactive archives can be taken anytime between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sean O'Brien, the archives librarian, will be available to answer questions. As well as Terry Prince Sims, daughter of John F. Prince, GCC's first Executive Dean (president), will be in attendance to share her knowledge.
