Apply to Graduate

Are you in the final semester of your degree or certificate program?

 Now is the time to apply to graduate.

  • You must apply to receive your degree or certificate. 
  • You must apply to walk in the commencement ceremony.
     

How to Apply for Graduation

If you are using college or university credits earned outside of MCCCD to meet graduation requirements, your transcripts must be evaluated by GCC. Please visit the GCC Transcripts page for more information.

Check your Degree Progress Report in your Student Center or meet with your advisor. If you have any questions, please contact your advisor.

You will be asked to submit your program plan code number and the name of your degree or certificate (including emphasis or track if it has one) for each degree or certificate you complete. If you are not sure, please go to the Degrees & Certificates A-Z list to locate your award.

Fill out the Online Application for Graduation to receive your degree or certificate.

  • Apply to graduate for each degree or certificate as you complete them, if you will complete more than one.
  • If you're a current Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honors Society member, please provide your PTK membership ID number

RSVP to be part of the Commencement Ceremony by April 1st to be included in the program.

*You may order from other vendors or borrow from a friend. If you need financial assistance, please reach out to graduation@gccaz.edu. A black cap and gown are required to be part of the ceremony.

Through hard work, diligence and perseverance, you have attained a significant milestone in your life - graduation from college. We are glad you chose GCC and we wish you well in your future endeavors.

Next Steps

  • Check your student email for a confirmation message after you submit your application. It will contain information you will need about the commencement ceremony.
  • Your official graduation evaluation will be processed to determine if you have met all of the qualifications for the requested degree/certificate(s) after your final semester has ended and all grades have been posted.
  • Check your Maricopa Student Email for the status of your application (approved/denied). The email will be sent to you within the five (5) weeks after your final class/semester.
  • Check your mail for your Diploma and/or certificate(s). They will be sent via US mail within 8-10 weeks of being awarded.
