Bio

Biography

Michael Strong is a professor of earth and environmental sciences. He earned his PhD from the University of Maryland College Park. His research emphasizes understanding the short- and long-term outcomes of sustainability initiatives for human well-being. Dr. Strong has published his research in journals focused on the changing environment and global conservation. His current project explores the incentives that motivate individuals to adopt cleaner burning cooking fuels in urban Africa.

Dr. Strong enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time in nature. He has a growing collection of plants, four aquariums, and five cats in the home he shares with his partner in central Phoenix.
