Bio
Biography
Kim has a passion for creating community in the classroom and helping students practice and learn communication skills that can improve relationships with family, friends, and coworkers. Kim is also a global magnet, assisting and teaching many immigrants, refugees, and international students in various courses including COM 080, 095, and 163. She teaches both intercultural communication courses (163 and 263) and brings into her courses stories from her many years of overseas experience teaching and working in Budapest, Hungary, Turkey, the Middle East, and Kabul, Afghanistan. She came to GCC right after living in Kabul and was overwhelmed by actually having windows, electricity, computers, projectors, dry erase markers, and air conditioning and heat in the classrooms. She earned a bachelor's Degree in Communication from ASU, a Master's Degree in Higher and Adult Education, and is currently ABD for her Ph.D. in Communication.
