Kendra Swensen

Biography

I have been with Maricopa Community Colleges now for almost 10 years. I started as an adjunct at Paradise Valley Community College before obtaining my current full-time faculty position at Glendale Community College in the Business and Information Technology Department. Prior to my current position, I worked for over two decades in the business arena in retail, human resources, and consumer and small business telecommunications in the areas of marketing, strategic planning, customer service and sales.

I have my undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Denver, and a Master's in Education (MEd) from Arizona State, although I still cheer for UofA--Go Wildcats! I am a native Arizonan, although I have also lived in California and Colorado.

I am a strong proponent of incorporating internships and work experience opportunities into one's educational plan, and do not consider myself to be an academic per se, but a "practioner" in the disciplines in which I teach.
