Bio
Biography
I grew up in the Southern United States. I was born in Texas and raised in Tennessee. I attended college at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama from 2004-2007, where I earned a BS in Biology. I was interested in health care, and while at Samford I explored several different fields including pharmacy, medicine, and dentistry. I ultimately decided to pursue dentistry, and I attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis from 2008-2012, where I earned my DDS degree.
After earning my DDS degree, I attended a residency program for advanced education in general dentistry. Following that program I moved to New Orleans, where I attended a general practice residency program at Louisiana State University.
In Phoenix I worked for a mobile dentistry program, where I would go to schools to provide dental care. I also began teaching Anatomy and Physiology I as an adjunct instructor at GCC. From my very first semester teaching, I knew I had found what I actually loved doing. I continued working as an adjunct for another semester, before being given a full time position for a year and a half. After that, I was hired as residential faculty at GCC.
I feel very lucky to have found GCC. Not only is it my teaching home, it is also the place where I discovered what I am truly passionate about. I now teach Anatomy and Physiology I and II (BIO 201 and BIO 202) at both Main Campus and North Campus. I hope to continue to share some of my experiences in health care with students just beginning their journey into the field.
