Biography

Let’s face it, not everybody finds IT exciting. That’s where I come in! In addition to traditional teaching I like to introduce new interactive activities and fun learning technologies into my classes. I have a knack for being able to teach tough concepts in ways students can understand. Mixing new learning formats with traditional formats, I am able to adapt to the evolving needs of our diverse student population. When I see a student get “stuck”, I don’t expect the student to change the way he/she learns, I change my approach to accommodate the student’s learning style. Strategies, such as flipping the classroom, teach the teacher, think pair share and Kahoot keep my classes current, promote learning and inject fun. Blending tech with creative is something I love.

Students of all backgrounds are welcome, I love challenging the norm and showing students that maybe felt like they wouldn't be welcome that there is a place for them! Andrea Schauer has 21 yrs of experience working in telecommunications. Her primary roles were telecommunication, corporate training, networking, and customer service. She also has experience as a small business owner.
