Astronomy Observatory
The GCC North Campus Astronomy Observatory, located to the west of the Dinnebito Building, consists of eight Celestron 8" telescopes and sensors capable of performing cutting-edge astronomical research. The Observatory pad has a sophisticated vibration isolation system that enables the telescopes to conduct high-precision photometry, including observations of planets orbiting other stars. The Observatory is used for astronomy laboratories, student-led research projects, and public viewing programs.
Student members of the A.S.T.R.O. Club have presented their research and observations at meetings of the astronomical community, including the annual meeting of the American Astronomical Society, the largest gathering of professional astronomers in the world.
