In 2014, the Glendale Community College (GCC) Women's Volleyball team possessed the mentality that the "Impossible is Possible” as they battled their way to win the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Volleyball Championship. In recognition of their accomplishment, the 2014 team was recently inducted into the Glendale Community College Athletic Hall of Fame.
 

These young athletes displayed tremendous teamwork, unrelenting resiliency, and an underdog mentality that earned them the championship.” Stated Peter Oliszczak, Athletic Director at GCC.
 

The 2014 Women’s Volleyball team is the first to win the NJCAA Volleyball National Championship since 1967 when GCC’s first team hit the court.

Members of the team and the coaching staff were recently honored during a halftime presentation at the GCC vs Mesa Community College Volleyball match on September 25, 2024.
 

GCC Gaucho Athletics has 14 teams, a spirit line and an Esports team. GCC student-athletes consistently earn top academic awards along with their numerous titles and championships.
 

Glendale Community College provides 41 associate degrees, 61 certificate programs, and a range of non-degree offerings, all available to students in traditional, online and hybrid formats.  Founded in 1965 to serve the northwestern part of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, the college is part of the Maricopa County Community Colleges District, has two campuses and enrolls approximately 26,000 students annually, and employs approximately 1,000 resident faculty, staff, and administrators with an operational budget of $83 million.
