“Glendale Community College is where I knew I needed to be!” Stated Trinity Morgan, a nursing student at GCC. She added, “I know that I would not have been happy at a big University, it did not match my lifestyle, it is too large, and for many students, the focus is not on academics. Trinity wanted more from a college and she got it at GCC.
“I wanted to stay close to home and I needed it to be affordable, plus I wanted it to be challenging.” Commented Trinity. By all accounts, GCC is a good fit for Trinity; she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, has earned the President’s Scholarship and won a scholarship from the Arizona Association of University Women.
Just starting her third year as a nursing student, Trinity is working her way to a bachelor’s degree through the Concurrent Enrollment Program that GCC has with Northern Arizona University. Her goal is become an Anesthetist or get a master’s degree in healthcare administration. She is solidly on track and taking degree related courses such as Anatomy. Trinity commented that her Anatomy instructor has really opened her eyes, “He has shared so much helpful knowledge about the medical field.”
One of the things that Trinity likes best about GCC is the strong sense of community on campus. She really appreciates the high level of personal care from everyone she has come in contact with, from other students, to advisors and faculty and staff. “It is just so comfortable here.”
When she is not studying and attending classes, she spends her time as a Precinct Committeeman for Maricopa County. She feels that if you want change, you need to get involved in order to make it happen.
Indeed Trinity is making it happen, in the classroom and in the halls of government.
