Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council
During the Spring 2021 semester, the DEI Council formed and began its charge to coordinate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts across the college. This work has begun with drafting of the Glendale Community College (GCC) DEI Mission Statement and is continuing with the forthcoming DEI Strategic Guide. At GCC, we recognize our journey is not one that can be achieved in silos, but rather requires both individual and collective action that is aligned and promotes transparency and accountability at every level of our college. Thus, the efforts of the DEI Council are intended to be a college-wide endeavors and structural in nature to ensure the college is optimally meeting the needs of all its students, staff, and faculty.
The DEI Council works to ensure that many voices that represent Glendale Community College are heard and considered in all we do. We are a group reflecting the determination of our college leaders and the GCC community to move our future-focused vision forward and create an increasingly diverse, equitable and inclusive academic environment that ensures we are a college open to and ready for all. We are looking forward to you joining us in engaging in this important work as we are dedicated to helping make GCC a better place for all.
